Brian Mason
We specialize in providing tailored commercial real estate solutions for private clients.
Background
Brian was born in Southern California into a Navy family, which instilled in him a sense of adaptability and resilience from an early age. His childhood took his family on a journey through various locations, starting in Northern California. Kindergarten in East Palo Alto, early Grammar school in Memphis TN and returned to Mountain View for the remainder of Grammar school through High School.
Upon graduating, Brian joined the US Army, serving in Missouri, Germany, San Francisco and Tacoma WA. This military experience not only shaped his discipline but also broadened his worldview. After his service, he pursued higher education, attending Foothill and DeAnza colleges before earning an Associate’s Degree in Marine Technology from Santa Barbara City College.
Brian began his professional journey in the oil industry as a commercial diver, a role he held until the oil crisis of 1983. Seizing the opportunity to pivot, he started his own construction company in New Orleans before relocating back to Northern California in 1984. In 1985, he founded EB Mason Construction & Millwork, where he honed his skills in construction and flipped homes in Silicon Valley.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to Quincy where he ran a successful construction company, subdivided land and built custom homes. However, the environmental challenges posed by the Spotted Owl situation shuttered many lumber mills in the Sierra region, prompting Brian to move to Ava, Missouri, to continue his development work. Tragically, he faced a major setback in 1990 when a historic snowstorm blanketed Northern California with 144 inches of snow in just three days, resulting in the loss of everything he had built.
Undeterred, Brian returned to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he found a new path in real estate, beginning his career at Contempo Realty in Cupertino. He later worked with notable firms such as Alain Pinel, Meacham Oppenheimer, Colliers, and a principal at Avison and Young.
Today, Brian enjoys a fulfilling personal life surrounded by his loving family, which includes children and a beautiful granddaughter. In his spare time, he finds joy in making furniture, gardening, and fishing, reflecting the creativity and connection to nature that have been integral to his life’s journey. Brian’s resilience, adaptability, and commitment to his passions continue to define his path as he embraces new challenges and opportunities.
